Waterfront Revitalization in Oconomowoc
I just attended a meeting yesterday in which the city of Oconomowoc presented their plans for the revitalization of the waterfront in downtown Oconomowoc. The specific area of interest is the boardwalk behind Wisconsin Avenue along Fowler Lake. If you are a resident of Oconomowoc you may want to stop by city hall and take a look at what is being proposed. The planners would like the future green space/ park turn more into a destination area rather than the current use. From what I could see the plans look outstanding and more importantly if the city can pull this off I think they will succeed in making this area a destination. What I liked most about the presentation was the realization that the city leaders realize that there are some things (larger capital improvements) like the Fowler Lake Revitalization are projects that the city must tackle. This will help the business’ along Wisconsin Ave thrive. The plan is a longer range plan with a possible completion in 2018.
