We just had a great Brokers Open Here the other day and I always enjoy hearing what the other agents have to say about a property. As you can see from the pictures this home is fabulous. The 9,000 plus square feet of living space is definitely worth seeing. While the style lends itself to a more formal feel, overall that is not what the agents said. Agents are in hundreds of homes all the time and we have seen everything from the
gaudy to the classic. With a house this big you might think they would comment on how large the house was, but they didn’t. Actually most of the 50 or so agents that toured this magnificent home said that it felt like home! That is quite a statement in itself. What they were really saying, if I can interpret the comment, was this; the house, while large did not make one feel lost, rather they enjoyed the unique well planned spaces. Each room was not overwhelming rather it was inviting.
These are huge compliments to the already inviting home. If you are interested in a truly classic home with eye towards family comfort and formality see this link or call me for a private showing, 1-888-HEY GLEN. This property is located in the Grandhaven subdivision in the town of Delafield and is currently listed for $1,595,000. Click here to view full details on this property.

If you have not biked on the new bike trail in Oconomowoc you really must give it a try. The trail head begins at Roosevelt Park, the location of the new Imagination Station that was recently constructed.
From here the trail heads south and bends slowly to the east as it crosses Silver Lake Street. There is one major crossing at HWY 67 but a crosswalk button can be pushed which will allow you to safely cross this intersection. As you continue east past the site of the new fire station the trail leads you behind Summit Elementary School and the YMCA at Pabst Farms. The smooth blacktop pavement extends to the intersection of Sawyer Road and Valley Road. From this point to Delafield the trail is composed of finely crushed gravel. If you ride a roadie, you may want to hop on Valley Road and continue your ride from there. If you have a Hybrid bike then head south on the gravel path and you will be in Downtown Delafield in no time. From Roosevelt Park to the intersection of Sawyer and Valley the trip is just six miles all without interference from vehicle traffic. Click here for a map to see this great new asset to Oconomowoc.

Make it a day and go to the
Naga-waukee Golf Course off Maple Ave in the town of Delafield.
You can stop for coffee at
Panera Bread and then off to play 18 holes of golf on the course. After your round you could stop at
Water Street Brewery for dinner. If you want atmosphere on the waterfront
The Golden Anchor is right on Maple Avenue with casual dining.
Take advantage of this nice weather and golf while you can.

2009 marks the 50th year of The Hanon Family and their involvement in Real Estate. In 1959 Sy Hanon started his own company called Sy Hanon Real Estate—“We Buy, Sell or Trade” was the motto then. When WWII came to an end Sy started a grocery store in downtown Delafield, aptly named “Hanon’s Supermarket. Business was good back then and Sy, Maryon (my grandmother) and their son Dwayne, lived upstairs in the “penthouse” as Grandma would call it. The penthouse was really just a small apartment. Times began to change after the war and larger grocery stores started to emerge. As the story goes, one day Grandpa was picking up some fresh produce and he stopped in front of a large Milwaukee grocery store and commented to my Grandmother, “Well Maryon, I think our days as a small grocer are over” With that Sy began his Real Estate career. Sy Hanon Real Estate quickly became, Hanon Inc. Realtors with the
addition of their son Dwayne. Fast forward to the late 80’s and Real Estate was changing quite fast. Dwayne joined with Shorewest Realtors (Wauwatosa Realtors) and soon Glenn followed in 1991. As the number one agent in the Oconomowoc Office I look back on all the great lessons I learned from Dad and Grandpa and I can honestly say, “I love my job!” Recently Don Horning placed the 50 year pin as recognition of our family’s longevity in Real Estate. I can think of no better company to work for and that is Shorewest Realtors! If you are looking for a professional REALTOR® in the greater Lake Country Area then put Glenn Hanon to work for you today!
